NCL Pizza Anytime — that's ANYtime

It was with some surprise that we discovered Norwegian is taking pizza to a new level, or hour. When we sailed on the Epic in November, we noticed that pizza was available 24/7 (from room service after midnight), and in another era we couldn’t have counted the times we’d relished the thought of having pizza under the stars…and did.

By the end of the summer, you’ll be able to order pizza after midnight on all NCL ships,  the possible exception being the Pride of America that sails the waters of Hawaii, where nobody likes pizza unless it’s smothered in pineapples.

Pizza is a staple in our household. We have even made it in a wood oven in Italy, with the help of professionals who spoke no English but could talk pizza. If it’s not on the table once a week in our house, the cook has failed.

So yes, we love pizza (thin ‘n crispy, please)…just not after midnight. Norwegian’s plan is great news for the late-night/early-morning snack people, providing they still have stomachs or digestive systems strong enough to handle it. And since this “Epic” test was obviously a success, there are more of them who do than we thought.

On NCL ships, handmade pizza costs five bucks. That’s never an issue for a pizza-holic but, for some of us, the clock is.
