Our experience has been that clean ships are the norm — you’d be hard-pressed to find a gum wrapper on the floor for more than 90 seconds. And with the number of passengers who have been ill on ships, cleanliness is critical.
The CDC Vessel Sanitation Department is around for just that reasons. It inspects, without notice, ships in American ports and scores them out of 100. It will come as no surprise to cruise passengers that many ships are in the high 90s, but here are the 16 that were perfect, from September to March:
Celebrity Solstice
Norwegian Pearl
Celebrity Equinox
Eurodam
Emerald Princess
Ventura
Carnival Freedom
Jewel Of The Seas
Crystal Symphony
Westerdam
Crown Princess
Norwegian Jewel
Costa Atlantica
AIDAaura
Diamond Princess
Aurora
