News release: Norwegian Cruise Line has launched a new Gift Card that can be redeemed toward the purchase of a cruise or onboard expenditures, making it easier for guests to give the gift of cruising to friends and loved ones.
Kind of makes you wonder why it took so long for somebody to think of this, doesn't it?
When there are gift cards available in a myriad of values ($10, $25, $50, $100, etc.) for a myriad of things (baby toys, clothiers, furniture, coffee,
restaurants, etc.)…why not cruises? Do you think somebody going on a cruise wouldn't appreciate an extra $25 to spend on the ship, in celebration of an occasion for the recipient and in relief of the shopper?
But here's a thought…
Cruise lines have loyalty programs, and loyalty cards — buy more cruises, get special offers; in most cases, it requires multiple cruises for any benefit. So why not a points card, like all the other points cards.
A point or two per dollar spent on the ship, and a corresponding rewards program.
Every other vendor seems to do it, so why not cruise lines?
