Fore! — from Funnyman Feherty

If you've ever watched Feherty, the TV show that combines golf celebrities with the "politically correct mind" of funnyman David Feherty, then you know right up front that the host is anything but politically correct.

He is golf's funniest commentator — by several par fives — and he frequently connects the dots between the game and un-golf-like situations.

Like this one a couple of weeks ago, about wayward tee shots by Tiger Woods:

“I’m not sure he could hit the sea off an aircraft carrier.”

Maybe aircraft carriers haven't served as driving ranges at sea, but cruise ships have, and that's why we're introducing David Feherty to a blog about cruising. The practise of teeing it up at the stern of a cruise ship used to be entertainment for passengers, until somebody rightly raised the impact a zillion golf balls could have on the watery environment.

Now that Feherty has raised the practice, you can be sure an environmentalist will be taking him to task for even alluding to the idea that golf balls could be hit into the sea.

But remember…his is a politically correct (sic) mind. That means Feherty's humor has no boundaries…no white stakes…so he never plays a verbal provisional to replace a slip of his glib tongue.

Even when it comes to hitting golf balls off a ship.
