Getaway on the Grammys a Coup

Next month, Norwegian unveils the Breakaway and all its Broadway fervor as New York's ship. Next year, Norwegian unveils the Getaway and its…Grammy Experience.

The Getaway will be Miami's ship and the Grammy Awards are almost always in Southern California — 14 of the last 15 ceremonies have been in Los Angeles — but they're watched in the four corners of the nation, so does it really matter?

On the Getaway, the Grammy Experience will be on Deck 8 and will feature artifacts from the Grammy Museum in L.A. Now if you've never been to the Grammy Museum, it's worth the trip if you're a music aficionado. We've been twice and would go again at the drop of a guitar pick.

Ever the innovator when it comes to cruise-line entertainment, Norwegian's billing itself as the "Official Cruise Line Partner of the Grammy Awards" and there are plans for a Grammy theme cruise. But the real coup for Norwegian is that evenings at the Grammy Experience will feature live performances by past Grammy winners and nominees.

The Grammys have been around for 55 years. With dozens of music categories, it'll be a while before Norwegian runs out of talent, won't it?
