The following is to give you some perspective, and maybe even an occasional chuckle, about the size of Oasis (also Allure) of the Seas, the biggest cruise ships on the planet…

Royal Caribbean has had the biggest cruise ships in the world since the first Freedom of the Seas introduced the Freedom Class in 2006, and now the Allure holds the distinction of being 75 feet longer (and inches longer than Oasis). Just one more first-down pass from Drew Brees.
Including crew, the Oasis and Allure have room to sleep everybody in the Alaskan towns of Nome (pop. 3,653) and Haines (1,749), but somebody in one of those towns would have to 
learn how to tie the ship to the bollards.
A new paint job takes 158,503 gallons of paint. And you thought painting the house was a big job?
The pipes on one of these babies, if placed end to end, would stretch from Seattle to the Canadian border (150 miles).
The swimming pools and jacuzzis hold more than five million tons of water. Makes worrying that somebody might have contaminated the water seem rather incidental, doesn’t it?

Oasis and Allure both of 2,700 rooms, more than the famous Atlantis, on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and twice as many as the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Now you know why cruise ships are called floating hotels.
Nobody ever has to walk up the staircases — they have 24 elevators.
There are 7,000 specially commissioned works of art, 10 times more than Picasso’s lifetime works.
There are enough electrical cables to connect New York to Los Angeles, which may be the only way New York would ever be connected to Los Angeles.
