The Silversea Way

For 17 years, Silversea has become known for its luxury branding in the cruise world. That explains why the christening of its newest ship, the 540-passenger Silver Spirit, was done quietly – and with class – in Fort Lauderdale this month.
Entertainment was provided by the ship’s musicians. A special duet was performed by “vocalists” (didn’t they used to be called just singers?) from the Florida Grand Opera’s Young Artists Program, Forget Beyonce and Adam Lambert, the Silver Spirit’s arrival was celebrated with opera singers (oops, vocalists) Julia Ebner and David Bailey, both renowned for performing across and beyond North America.
The new ship is Silversea’s third largest of seven, a fleet that offers ultra luxury and all-inclusive pricing. It does, however, run $350 per day and up. And if you think you could live on a ship, Silversea offers you a taste of that: around the world in 119 days on its flagship, the Silver Spirit.
That’s it, we’re done.
