There is a reason that cruisers of all ages should be interested in what’s happening with Disney Cruise Line. That picture is the latest reason for us.
They are called grandchildren, and they are special for all the reasons that grandparents already know. They come along just when “parents” think there won’t be a lot of entertainment activities with “children” any more, and they re-charge the batteries in the old folks.
So before you discard any news about Disney cruises, don’t. As long as there are grandchildren, there will be the potential of putting Disney in your cruise portfolio.
This is Number Four for us. Her name is Teagan and she arrived just two weeks ago, all eight pounds and 10 ounces of her and yes, we do think she is perfect, because that’s what grandparents do. This isn’t a guarantee because life doesn’t come with them, but one day we’d like to take her and her three cousins on a Disney cruise ship.
Maybe it will be the Fantasy, which hasn’t hit the water yet and won’t until next spring. Or maybe it will be one of her older siblings — the Magic, the Wonder or the Dream.
Maybe we’ll take them to see the oldest and most famous mouse in the world and his girlfriend or missus, or whatever Minnie is. Or perhaps we’ll take them to see Kermit The Frog, Grover and Miss Piggy.
Yes, The Muppets are part of the Disney family, too, and as of this week they’ve been invited to join the cruise-ship branch. They’re the stars of a game show that will be played
on the ship, an interactive experience for every guest, as long as they’ve reached their ninth birthday…so it’ll be a while until little Teagan can participate.
The Muppets, the offspring of children’s genius Jim Henson, will first appear on the Fantasy because it’s new, but anybody who has watched Disney perform over the years knows it won’t be long until they’re on the other ships, too.
Most of the ships come and go from Port Canaveral, on the east coast of Florida, and if you really can’t get enough Disney for the grandchildren, you can drive down the highway to Disney World in Orlando. That’s all part of the package, or the packaging, and everybody knows you don’t have to go on a cruise ship to see what Disney has to offer.
We’re just partial.
