This was a tough one to pass up for us. A cruise from Vancouver to San Diego. It’s a wine cruise. Also a Mac cruise. If there are two things that have long been a part of our lives, they are wine and Macs.
It gets better. The ship is the Celebrity Millennium, a ship we loved BEFORE it went into dry dock to be “Solstic-ized.”
There’s more. You get to be a birdman. Well, sort of. You get to fantasize about being a birdman because the cruise includes a side trip to Alcatraz, where an inmate named Robert Stroud was moved, from Leavenworth Prison. At Leavenworth, he was imprisoned with his birds…at Alcatraz, no birds, pal…hence the movie Birdman of Alcatraz.
The Millennium leaves Vancouver on September 9, arriving in San Diego 10 days later, and the last price we saw for it was $1,029.
A previous booking precludes our participation. Trying to be a birdman will have to wait.
