Eclipse Experience: Which Bob?

We feel like we dodged a bullet…a cruising bullet. We’d go on the Celebrity Eclipse any time.  In fact, we’re going on an Eclipse cruise this year. Soon. Thrilled to be going. Our timing is why we dodged the bullet. If we were going on the Eclipse in November, we could be “All Aboard with Bob!”

Different Bob.

The “other Bob” is Harper, and you’ll find his name in the same sentence as The Biggest Loser. Who said that gives both Bobs something in common? His cruise on the Eclipse is November 12-19, which happens to be the first anniversary of the ship’s launching, and we’re grateful that our Eclipse experience will happen before then.

Not that we have anything against Bob…Harper. Not  that we have anything against The Biggest Loser, the popular reality TV show about who can lose the most weight. Not that we’re insensitive about the challenges facing people who have trouble shedding pounds.

But The Biggest Loser Experience Cruise with “the other Bob” features:
• Seminars on health and wellness, motivation and fashion
• Special exercise classes, group classes on the deck and yoga on the beach
• Speeches about weight-loss secrets
• Cooking demonstrations geared to nutrition and losing weight
• Delicious low-calorie menus

Really. While nobody goes on a cruise with the expressed purpose of gaining weight, one of the attractions that makes cruising good value is the variety and quality of the food. Okay, maybe a little quantity, too. And this Bob has rarely seen a “delicious” low-calorie menu.

As theme cruises go, this one’s great for people who fit, or feel they fit, that demographic. It’s just not on our…culinary agenda.

All Aboard…and pick your Bob.
