Cruise Ships to the Rescue?

You likely heard about the demonstrations that resulted in arrests of hundreds of protesters at a G20 Summit a couple of weeks ago. Well, one reader of a small Canadian newspaper came up with a letter-to-the-editor solution.

It involves cruise ships.

Here’s then rationale of Brian Miller, from Port Hope, Ontario, as expressed to the Northumberland News, a twice-weekly paper in one of Toronto’s bedroom communities:

“My proposal for future summit meetings is that they be held on a chartered cruise ship in the Caribbean or the Mediterranean. I’m sure the world leaders would be more than comfortable and satisfied with the excellent accommodation and facilities that would be provided. If there was to be a concern of demonstrations at the port of embarkation, the leaders could be taken to the cruise ship by helicopter from various undisclosed locations.”

Talk about theme cruises!
