Like most women in America, I was in Macy’s on Memorial Day Weekend, shopping for specials. While I’d rather have been cruising, shopping for cruising isn’t a bad alternative.
Just before leaving, I overheard another cruise shopper’s exchange with the checkout clerk. It seems she’d bought something special to wear on a cruise. When she unpacked her suitcase on the ship — cruise line unknown — she discovered the people at Macy’s hadn’t removed the security thingy.
So the special addition to her wardrobe went on the cruise without going public, and yesterday she was returning it, accompanied by a few choice words for the poor Macy’s clerk. The things you never expect!
Yes, because of her, I checked my bags for security tags.
