Once you&#8217;re there, how important is it to be online?<\/p>\n<p>On <a href=\"http:\/\/travel.usatoday.com\/cruises\/index\">USA Today&#8217;s website<\/a>, we found a comment from a cruiser that read:<br \/>\n&#8220;One of the things I appreciated the most about being on a cruise ship was NOT staying connected! I left my laptop at home and only turned the phone on when on land.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a great theory.<\/p>\n<p>For people like us, writing and uploading blogs every day, it&#8217;s impractical. However, for most of us, we have a daily dependency on email and the Internet, not to mention Facebook, Twitter and whatever else has arrived while we slept. We got a joke (yes, by email) the other day that read:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won&#8217;t bother you for weeks, months, maybe years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So, hands up&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Could you go on a cruise of one week or more without using a computer or your cel phone?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Book a cruise and you&#8217;ll soon be onboard.
