For many weeks, those of us who write about cruising and cruise ships have been saying the next big ship to arrive will be Celebrity&#8217;s Silhouette. It wasn&#8217;t true. Today it is. Yesterday, the keys to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.celebritycruises.com\/plancruise\/ships\/ship.do;jsessionid=0000xc8ln2MsN3mduMtil8N3RVH:12hdebcnj?shipCode=SI\">Silhouette<\/a> were turned over to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.celebritycruises.com\/home.do\">Celebrity<\/a>, and just like that Celebrity officially became the owner.<\/p>\n<p>Presumably, a few pennies were turned over to the old owners, to complete the transaction.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a moot point, of course, but until yesterday the Silhouette belonged to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meyerwerft.com\/page.asp?main=0&amp;subs=0&amp;websub=m1s0&amp;lang=e\">Meyer Werft<\/a>, the shipbuilding company that put her together. Tomorrow she leaves <a href=\"http:\/\/english.hamburg.de\/\">Hamburg<\/a> on a 2-day cruise to show her stuff to the media and industry reps. Among them is our colleague Phil Reimer, from <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.portsandbows.com\/portsandbows\/default.aspx\">Ports and Bows<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wonder if he&#8217;s confessed, too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Confession time.
