The anticipation of many days at sea attracts many thoughts, most of them worrisome.<\/p>\n<p>It starts with boredom.<\/p>\n<p>How long can you sit and watch water go by? How many books can you read? How much TV can you watch? How many menus can you assess before you start feeling like it&#8217;s a culinary Ground Hog Day?<\/p>\n<p>With a ship like the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.celebritycruises.com\/plancruise\/ships\/ship.do;jsessionid=0000whxAuwbZ6DPnXJHW_oCH5Sm:12hdebcnj?shipCode=EC&amp;cS=SIDENAV\">Celebrity Eclipse<\/a>, boredom is only an issue if you make it one. Having just completed six days crossing the ocean, and having had concerns that it could be too long without setting foot on land, we have found there is no reason for any passenger to be bored.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-7984\" href=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/2011\/04\/when-facing-some-days-at-sea%e2%80%a6\/library-300-4\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7984\" title=\"Library-300\" src=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/Library-3003.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"663\" \/><\/a>Based on any given day sailing the Eclipse this week, here are some of the things you can do when you have six days between ports:<\/p>\n<p>Stop smoking or start dancing.<\/p>\n<p>Sun-bathe under a blanket if you&#8217;re the outdoors type or snooze in the solarium if you&#8217;re not.<\/p>\n<p>Watch a movie (The Fighter) or paint a water color.<\/p>\n<p>Learn to make sushi or to drink bourbon.<\/p>\n<p>Shoot hoops with Americans or play football with Brits.<\/p>\n<p>Whiten your teeth or sing in a choir.<\/p>\n<p>Flatten your stomach (yeah, right!) or inflate your biceps.<\/p>\n<p>Attend a prayer service or play blackjack.<\/p>\n<p>Edit your videos or practice your putting.<\/p>\n<p>Try to cha-cha or chat with the captain.<\/p>\n<p>Play croquet or learn some Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>Slice the top off a champagne bottle (sabering) or make your wall on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>Toss bean bags or listen to The Beatles.<\/p>\n<p>Sip single malt scotch or go to an AA meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Indulge in food from 10 different restaurants or have a botox treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Or\u2026<\/p>\n<p>You could just read a book or six.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A re-positioning cruise across the ocean, no matter which ocean, means many days at sea.
