\"\"<\/a>As we embark on our inaugural Transatlantic cruise tomorrow, on the Celebrity Eclipse<\/a>, we have some questions about being in the (for us) unknown waters of the Atlantic Ocean\u2026<\/p>\n

Like, do we need warm-weather clothes or cold-weather clothes at this time of year in the middle of the ocean? Will there be icebergs? Will we be bored with six days at sea? What about motion sickness? Is the food going to be repetitive, or even seem repetitive? How will the Easter Bunny be able to find us?<\/p>\n

For help, we consulted dear friends of ours, Howard and Connie Gurvitz. Last year, they crossed the Atlantic at about the same time of year. They never did tell us what ship they were on, but it turns out to have been the Celebrity Solstice<\/a>, the flagship of the Solstice Class\u2026the older sibling of the Eclipse, third in line as Solstice royalty goes. A fourth ship, the Silhouette<\/a>, arrives later this year, to complete the Solstice Class.<\/p>\n

The Solstice, the Eclipse and the Equinox<\/a> (No. 2) are all heading for Europe over the next two weeks, to different destinations. Our voyage takes us to Southampton<\/a>, but that’s a story for another day.<\/p>\n

Weather?<\/p>\n

“It was okay.”<\/p>\n

Icebergs?<\/p>\n

“You’re kidding, right?”<\/p>\n

Boredom at sea?<\/p>\n

“Not really. You can be as busy as you want to be. It wasn’t boring at all.”<\/p>\n

Motion sickness?<\/p>\n

“I thought I’d be sick as a dog, and it was like sailing on glass.”<\/p>\n

Food?<\/p>\n

“The food was great. The service was super. The ship was great. You’re gonna love it.”<\/p>\n
