says <a href=\"http:\/\/www.princess.com\/index.html\">Princess<\/a> President and CEO Alan Buckelew&#8230;The ship will be fit for duty next spring, and be followed by a sister ship in 2013&#8230;Lots of ships have canceled or will cancel port stops in Japan, in light of the chaos and threat of radiation&#8230;So far the list includes: Oceania&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oceaniacruises.com\/ships\/nautica\/default.aspx\">Nautica<\/a>, which went to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shanghai.gov.cn\/shanghai\/node23919\/index.html\">Shanghai<\/a> and Kaohsiung instead; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cunard.com\/\">Cunard&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cunard.com\/en-US\/Ships\/Queen-Mary-2\/\">Queen Mary 2<\/a>; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azamaraclubcruises.com\/home.do;jsessionid=0000FwuRZmtJ7WgM84KRbFLGunz:12odfrv1v\">Azamara&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.azamaraclubcruises.com\/plancruise\/ships\/ship.do;jsessionid=0000l8JA99eKZ7qtYBZx5BUIKXs:12odfrv1v?shipCode=QS\">Quest<\/a>; Royal Caribbean&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/findacruise\/ships\/class\/ship\/home.do?br=R&amp;shipClassCode=VI&amp;shipCode=LG\">Legend of the Seas<\/a> and three Princess ships in the far east \u2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.princess.com\/learn\/ships\/di\/index.html\">Diamond<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.princess.com\/learn\/ships\/op\/index.html\">Ocean<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.princess.com\/learn\/ships\/sp\/index.html\">Sun<\/a>&#8230;&#8221;Prudent&#8221; and &#8220;inappropriate&#8221; are two of the words that come to mind for explaining a change in ports, even though the lack of cruise ship traffic will impact on the Japanese economy.<\/p>\n<p>European Migration Part IX: <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ncl.com\/\">Norwegian<\/a> will have four ships in Europe in 2012, for the first time&#8230;The <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ncl.com\/ship\/epic\">Epic<\/a> will leave Miami in May for its first summer aboard, and will sail <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-7467\" href=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/2011\/03\/cruise-ships-japan-ports-renovations-mazatlan-europe\/epic-650\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-7467\" title=\"Epic-650\" src=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Epic-650.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"265\" \/><\/a>Mediterranean cruises out of Barcelona on both summer 2011 and summer 2012, returning each October to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miami.com\/\">Miami<\/a> for the winters&#8230;The <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ncl.com\/ship\/sun\/overview\">Sun<\/a> is in the Balkans now, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ncl.com\/ship\/jade\/overview\">Jade<\/a> will sail the Eastern Mediterranean out of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comune.venezia.it\/flex\/cm\/pages\/ServeBLOB.php\/L\/EN\/IDPagina\/1\">Venice<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.ncl.com\/ship\/spirit\/overview\">Spirit<\/a> will be the new ship in Europe, year-round from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barcelona.com\/\">Barcelona<\/a> and Venice&#8230;Skipping <a href=\"http:\/\/www.go2mazatlan.com\/\">Mazatlan<\/a> Part XXVII: There are more ships every week bypassing the Mexican resort town on the Pacific coast, citing violence as the reason&#8230;Holland America&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollandamerica.com\/cruise-vacation-onboard\/Oosterdam;jsessionid=1219C990666887E81A7B5B08E1BAE570\">Oosterdam<\/a> will spent an extra day in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitpuertovallarta.com\/\">Puerto Vallarta<\/a> instead, through the end of the Mexican Riviera season in the spring&#8230;The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.princess.com\/learn\/ships\/sa\/index.html\">Sapphire Princess<\/a> will stay longer in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cabosanlucas.net\/\">Cabo San Lucas<\/a>&#8230;Passengers are jittery about Mazatlan and simply don&#8217;t want to go there, and the cruise lines are responding accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>Four times in four months, crew members on Royal Caribbean ships have been caught with drugs, the most recent one on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/findacruise\/ships\/class\/ship\/home.do;jsessionid=0000BP_pWlcJhLwppsRdAi1AHYF:12hdhubrs?br=R&amp;shipClassCode=VI&amp;shipCode=GR\">Grandeur of the Seas<\/a> in Jamaica, where local officials found one crew member in possession of 18 kilos of cocaine, and then found another 15 kilos in the cabin of another crew member&#8230;This prompted one blogger, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gadling.com\/\">Chris Owen<\/a>, to quip: &#8220;But John Doe and his lovely wife Sally get the bottle of champagne they wanted to bring on board to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary confiscated upon embarkation.
