and Runnin&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p>A site called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.travelsmartnewsletter.com\/\"><strong>Travel Smart<\/strong><\/a> is hyping a service that makes it easy to get your bags to and from a cruise ship in <a href=\"http:\/\/ci.ftlaud.fl.us\/\"><strong>Fort Lauderdale<\/strong><\/a>&#8230;Your bags can go from the airport to the ship, from <a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6556\" href=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/2011\/01\/cruise-ship-upgrades-bargain-cruises-mexico\/dream-620-5b-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-6556\" title=\"Dream-620-5b\" src=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Dream-620-5b1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"245\" \/><\/a>the car rental center to the ship, from the ship to the airport or just be stored at the airport&#8230;No mention if the bags go to the ship&#8217;s porters (thereby incurring another cost) or directly to your stateroom door for that price&#8230;The company, <strong>Bags To Go<\/strong>, also operates at the airport in <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong> and soon will, apparently, in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miami.com\/\"><strong>Miami<\/strong><\/a>&#8230;Apparently <strong>Mickey<\/strong> was a little too close to a rival cruise ship last week&#8230;The <a href=\"http:\/\/disneycruise.disney.go.com\/ships-activities\/ships\/dream\/\"><strong>Disney Dream<\/strong><\/a> (left) drifted perilously close to <strong>Royal Caribbean&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/findacruise\/ships\/class\/ship\/home.do;jsessionid=00002HsUNbCAuk-UVjZnITQ_Ox1:13hldcill?br=R&amp;shipClassCode=SS&amp;shipCode=MN\">Monarch of the Seas<\/a><\/strong> during its coming-out ceremony&#8230;How perilously?&#8230;Disney officials said no closer than 20 or 30 feet, but Monarch crew members said there&#8217;s a zero that should be there \u2014 2 or 3 feet&#8230;We spent 10 minutes watching a variety of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\"><strong>YouTube<\/strong><\/a> videos, none of which were conclusive.<\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p>File this under &#8220;Who Would Want To Do this?&#8221;&#8230;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.costacruise.com\/\"><strong>Costa Cruises<\/strong><\/a> has a loyal-guest program called <strong>ViceVersa<\/strong>, in which loyal guests get to switch places with crew members for a day to &#8220;experience the thrill of being a part of the onboard staff&#8221;&#8230;Really?&#8230;Trained by the cruise director (now there&#8217;s a scary thought), the <strong>CostaClub<\/strong> members will work in guests services, as tour escorts, cruise staff, musicians, singers, waiters and cooks&#8230;This happens on four cruises, the first of which ends Monday after 21 days on the water&#8230;The second one isn&#8217;t until July, so Costa has plenty of time to assess and change direction&#8230;This takes belt-tightening to a whole new level&#8230;When <a href=\"http:\/\/www.disneycruise.com\/\"><strong>Disney<\/strong><\/a> pulled its <a href=\"http:\/\/disneycruise.disney.go.com\/ships-activities\/ships\/wonder\/\"><strong>Wonder<\/strong><\/a> out of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.go2mazatlan.com\/\"><strong>Mazatlan<\/strong><\/a> over security concerns, it substituted an extra day in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cabosanlucas.net\/\"><strong>Cabo San Lucas<\/strong><\/a>&#8230;That&#8217;s an &#8220;extra day&#8221; not an &#8220;overnight&#8221;&#8230;The ship leaves Cabo at night, goes out to sea, and returns the next morning&#8230;Sailing overnight must be cheaper than port taxes, even when anchored in the bay.<\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-6562\" href=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/2011\/01\/cruise-ship-upgrades-bargain-cruises-mexico\/rc-radiance-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6562\" title=\"RC Radiance\" src=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/RC-Radiance1-e1296244061844.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a>Most cruise commentators are getting a chuckle, at least, out of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/home.do\">Royal Caribbean&#8217;s<\/a> <\/strong>&#8220;announcement&#8221; that it&#8217;s adding singles cabins for solo travelers, all of them windowless on the inside, all of them on a makeover to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/findacruise\/ships\/class\/ship\/home.do;jsessionid=00000GSPUPQJOvx9sKin1L6RDZV:12hdhuaq2?br=R&amp;shipClassCode=RD&amp;shipCode=RD\"><strong>Radiance of the Seas<\/strong><\/a>&#8230;The chuckle is because &#8220;all of them&#8221;
