{"id":394,"date":"2010-03-22T17:27:02","date_gmt":"2010-03-23T00:27:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.baremetal.com\/?p=58"},"modified":"2010-03-22T17:27:02","modified_gmt":"2010-03-23T00:27:02","slug":"dubba-dubba-dubba-dubai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vitaluna.net\/?p=394","title":{"rendered":"Dubba-dubba-dubba&#8230;Dubai!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you\u2019ve ever received one of those emails with a series of photos detailing the opulence of Dubai (aka, where our gas profits have gone), as we have, then the thought of going there on a cruise probably isn\u2019t as far-fetched as it was.<br \/>\nHow?<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.costacruise.com\">Costa Cruise Lines<\/a> has two ships in the area, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/home.do\">Royal Caribbean<\/a> re-positioned its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/findacruise\/ships\/class\/ship\/home.do;jsessionid=0000ZcuO1kz_du9pDnQtyJgdT0p:12hbioe0u?br=R&amp;shipClassCode=RD&amp;shipCode=BR\">Brilliance<\/a> to be there in time for the opening of the new terminal at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dubaitourism.ae\/CruiseTerminal\/CruiseTerminal\/tabid\/314\/language\/en-US\/Default.aspx\">Port Rashid<\/a>. As of January this year, the terminal has been able to accommodate four ships at once \u2013 no tendering here, at least not yet \u2013 and passenger arrivals this year are expected to exceed 300,000.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s a long haul for those of us on this side of the water, so most of the visitors will come from Europe and areas more geographically accessible. However, 20 years ago, who would have considered flying from the U.S. to the U.A.E.
