As if we needed to be enticed into looking for — and booking — a good cruise, the major players in the market keep coming up innovative ways to get our attention.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today, it's Royal Caribbean<\/a>. Yesterday it was Norwegian<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So as not to copy rivals (even though imitation is the greatest form of flattery), cruise lines develop unique ways of packaging, just like any responsible and creative business would. In Royal Caribbean's case, it's called BOGO.<\/p>\n

Buy One, Get One<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Every passenger who books a cruise at regular prices can add a companion fare for 50% off. How you sort that out with your companion is your business, of course, but Royal Caribbean is applying this to all cruises for 2015* and 2016*. The asterisk is that the deal doesn't apply to the two new ships that will arrive during that time, Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas because, realistically, they will sell out at regular prices.<\/p>\n

You "May" book this deal, and you "May" not.<\/p>\n

In other words, your window of opportunity is the merry month of May. On June 1, the deal's over.<\/p>\n

The offer applies to only one companion and whoever that is must share your stateroom so it's a good idea make sure it's your spouse or somebody….<\/p>\n

No, we don't want to go there.<\/p>\n

But we do want to go on a cruise where one of us rides for half-fare.<\/p>\n
