Many times, in a nice way. Like the story of Xana-Kai Nash, a Florida teenager who parlayed a first-time experience on a cruise ship into what are &mdash; as of this season &mdash; two world championships.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">We stumbled across her story while reading a blog written by Adam Goldstein, the President of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/home.do\">Royal Caribbean<\/a>. In reality, his blog was written by her. It related how she was coaxed by the hotel director on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/findacruise\/ships\/class\/ship\/home.do;jsessionid=0000qNZMYvzM70BFt-cLBOv1KIR:12hbioan0?br=R&amp;shipClassCode=FR&amp;shipCode=LB\">Liberty of the Seas<\/a> to try out the ship&#39;s <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Xana-Kai-Nash-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Xana-Kai Nash\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-19329\" height=\"290\" src=\"http:\/\/cruisingdoneright.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/Xana-Kai-Nash-1.jpg\" width=\"245\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">new <i>FlowRider<\/i> in 2008 and how five years later she is the two-time World Flowboard Champion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">No, we didn&#39;t know there was a World Flowboard Championship either, but there is. It comes at the end of each year&#39;s <i>Carbon Flow Tour<\/i> that in 2013 began in Phoenix and wound up in Beach Haven, New Jersey. Just 15, Xana-Kai went undefeated and became the youngest world champion in history&hellip;finding how deep &quot;history&quot; goes is somewhat debatable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">But the story stands, as she explains in the Goldstein blog &mdash; check <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalcaribbean.com\/connect\/blog\/how-boarding-a-wave-led-to-the-world-flowboard-title\/\">here<\/a> to read it for yourself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"font-size:14px;\">Whether Royal Caribbean&#39;s <i>FlowRider<\/i> led to world championships for the sport isn&#39;t clear.
